About CourseAgent
Built by people who've spent 20 years doing this.
CourseAgent isn't a technology company that decided to build an L&D tool. It's an L&D company that built the technology its own clients needed — and couldn't find anywhere else.
The founder's story
From avoiding technology entirely to building it for hundreds of organisations.
Pete Murr didn't start his career in technology. In the early 1990s he actively avoided it — convinced that computers were for other people, not for him. What changed wasn't a sudden revelation. It was a slower, more deliberate process of learning that technology, when it actually works for people rather than against them, can transform what's possible.
That insight became the foundation for everything that followed. Over the next two decades, Pete built and delivered professional courses for more than 800 organisations across healthcare, finance, legal, retail and the public sector, founding Me Learning Ltd, which became one of the UK's leading providers of professional e-learning.
The frustration that led to CourseAgent wasn't a sudden one either. It built slowly across hundreds of projects. Brilliant subject matter experts with knowledge worth sharing, spending months on course production instead of weeks. L&D teams with backlogs that never cleared. Training consultancies whose margins were being eaten by the sheer cost of building content that should have taken a fraction of the time.
The tools existed to make courses look professional. What didn't exist was a tool that understood how to make them teach — one where the instructional design principles weren't something you had to bring yourself, but were built into every output from the ground up.
That's what CourseAgent is. Not a faster way to write content. A platform that generates courses the way an experienced instructional designer would — because it was built by one.
“
I spent twenty years watching talented people struggle to share what they knew — not because they lacked expertise, but because the tools demanded technical skills they didn't have and time they couldn't afford. CourseAgent exists because that felt like a problem worth solving. Every expert deserves the tools to teach.

The journey that built the platform.
Early 1990s
Avoiding technology entirely
Pete begins his career with no interest in computers — convinced, like many people of that era, that technology was for specialists. The experience of learning despite that barrier would later shape how CourseAgent thinks about accessibility and non-technical users.
Mid 1990s – 2000s
Learning L&D from the ground up
Pete builds expertise in professional learning — instructional design, course structure, assessment, learner engagement. The principles that would later be baked into CourseAgent's AI are learned here, on real projects, for real organisations.
2005
Founding Me Learning Ltd
Pete founds Me Learning Ltd, a professional e-learning company serving organisations across the public and private sector. Over the following two decades, Me Learning designs and delivers courses for 800+ organisations across healthcare, local government, finance, legal and retail.
2005 – 2023
5,000+ courses. 800+ organisations. One consistent frustration.
Across every sector and every client type, the same problems recur. Course production takes too long. Specialist dependency creates bottlenecks. Great knowledge stays locked in people's heads because sharing it professionally costs too much time and money.
2023
Building the tool that should have existed
Pete begins building CourseAgent, an AI course authoring platform where the instructional design principles aren't an add-on, they're the foundation. Every template, every AI prompt, every quality check is built on the same standards that Me Learning has applied to professional course design for two decades.
2024 – 2025
Investment, development and beta
CourseAgent raises investment, builds the full platform including Academy LMS, Skills & Competencies and Dynamic SCORM, and begins beta testing with learning professionals. Early feedback validates the core premise: AI that actually knows instructional design produces meaningfully better output.
2026
Launch
CourseAgent launches publicly. Trademark registered in the UK (Classes 9, 41, 42). The mission: make professional course creation accessible to every expert who has knowledge worth sharing — regardless of their technical skills, L&D background or budget.
Our mission
Every expert deserves the tools to teach.
Professional course creation has been gatekept for too long — by cost, by technical complexity, by the assumption that you need a specialist agency or an in-house instructional designer to do it properly. CourseAgent exists to change that. We're building a platform where the expertise is already there — so the only thing you need to bring is the knowledge you already have.
Instructional design is not optional
Fast content generation without pedagogical structure produces words that fill a screen, not learning that changes behaviour. Every CourseAgent output is built on the same instructional design principles applied to 5,000+ professional courses.
Honesty over hype
AI is genuinely useful in course creation. It is not magic. CourseAgent generates a first draft — a very good one — that still benefits from human review, judgement and expertise. We say this openly because it's true and because our users deserve to know it.
Accessibility is not a feature
Accessibility — for learners with different needs, for experts without technical skills, for organisations without enterprise budgets — is built into every decision we make. Not added at the end.
The expert is always in control
AI generates the structure. The expert shapes the content. The learner drives their own experience. CourseAgent amplifies human expertise rather than substituting for it.
The heritage behind the platform
20 years of real L&D work. Built into every line of code.
CourseAgent is built on the professional experience of Me Learning Ltd, a UK-based e-learning company founded by Pete Murr that has designed and delivered professional courses for over 800 organisations across two decades.
Me Learning's clients span healthcare trusts, local authorities, financial institutions, legal firms and retail groups. The instructional design standards, quality frameworks and pedagogical principles that Me Learning has refined across those 5,000+ courses are what CourseAgent's AI has been built to replicate and scale.
This isn't a technology company that read about instructional design. It's an instructional design practice that built the technology it needed — because nothing else met the standard it had spent 20 years developing.

Me Learning Ltd and CourseAgent are separate companies. Me Learning continues to serve its existing clients as an e-learning production company. CourseAgent is a SaaS platform built on Me Learning's expertise, designed to give every organisation the capability that previously required a specialist agency.
What 20 years of L&D looks like inside a platform.
These aren't features that were added to make the platform more competitive. They're the professional standards that Me Learning has applied to every course it's ever built, now automated.
Bloom's Taxonomy-aligned assessment
Every quiz and assessment is automatically structured to test the appropriate level of cognitive complexity — not just knowledge recall, but application, analysis and evaluation where the learning objective requires it.
Cognitive load management
Course structure, section length and content density are automatically calibrated to avoid overwhelming learners — a principle that takes experienced designers years to internalise and apply consistently.
Learning objective alignment
Every section of every course is structured to serve a declared learning objective. Assessment questions are aligned to what the course actually teaches. Not a nice-to-have — a foundational standard.
Cultural intelligence
Course examples, scenarios and references are automatically adapted for geographic, cultural and regulatory context, drawing on Me Learning's experience delivering training across multiple regions and sectors.
6-layer quality audit
Every course can be reviewed against six instructional design standards automatically — coherence, assessment quality, inclusive language, accessibility, learning objective alignment and enhancement opportunities.
Accessibility by default
WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, learner-controlled accessibility settings, dyslexia-friendly options and colour vision profiles — built into every course and every Academy portal from the ground up, not retrofitted.
