What Articulate 360 AI does

The AI in Articulate 360 sits inside the authoring experience rather than replacing it. In practice it covers:

• Course starters in Rise - describe a topic and get a lesson outline with draft blocks you then edit.
• Text generation and rewriting - drafting, shortening, changing tone on a block you have selected.
• Knowledge check and quiz generation - questions produced from content already on the page.
• Image generation - AI images for lesson headers and block backgrounds.
• Translation assistance - machine translation of course text.

It is genuinely useful, and it is fast for first drafts. What it is not is an agent that designs and builds the whole course from your source material. You still assemble the course.

What costs extra

The part that catches teams out is that AI in Articulate 360 is metered. Access is bundled with your subscription, but usage is allocated as a credit or word allowance per user per period. Heavy drafting, image generation and translation consume it quickly, and once it is gone you either wait for the reset or buy more.

Two other cost lines are worth checking before you budget:

• Per-author seats. Articulate 360 is licensed per author, annually. AI does not change that maths - if five people need to build, you buy five seats.
• Storyline vs Rise. The AI depth is not identical across both. If your team lives in Storyline for interaction-heavy work, expect to do more of it by hand.

Is Articulate 360 AI enough?

Ask what job you are trying to remove.

If the job is writing faster inside a course you are already building, Articulate 360 AI does it well and you do not need another tool.
