About CourseAgent
Built by people who've spent 20 years doing this.
CourseAgent isn't a technology company that decided to build an L&D tool. It's an L&D company that built the technology its own clients needed - and couldn't find anywhere else.
The founder's story
From avoiding technology entirely to building it for hundreds of organisations.
Pete Murr didn't start his career in technology. In the early 1990s he actively avoided it - convinced that computers were for other people, not for him. What changed wasn't a sudden revelation. It was a slower, more deliberate process of learning that technology, when it actually works for people rather than against them, can transform what's possible.
That insight became the foundation for everything that followed. Over the next two decades, Pete built and delivered professional courses for more than 800 organisations across healthcare, finance, legal, retail and the public sector - founding Me Learning Ltd, which became one of the UK's leading providers of professional e-learning.
The tools existed to make courses look professional. What didn't exist was a tool that understood how to make them teach - one where the instructional design principles weren't something you had to bring yourself, but were built into every output from the ground up.
That's what CourseAgent is. Not a faster way to write content. A platform that generates courses the way an experienced instructional designer would - because it was built by one.
I spent twenty years watching talented people struggle to share what they knew - not because they lacked expertise, but because the tools demanded technical skills they didn't have and time they couldn't afford. CourseAgent exists because that felt like a problem worth solving. Every expert deserves the tools to teach.
Our journey
The journey that built the platform.
Avoiding technology entirely
Pete begins his career with no interest in computers. The experience of learning despite that barrier would later shape how CourseAgent thinks about accessibility.
Learning L&D from the ground up
Pete builds expertise in instructional design, course structure, assessment and learner engagement - principles later baked into CourseAgent's AI.
Founding Me Learning Ltd
Pete founds Me Learning Ltd, a professional e-learning company. Over two decades it designs and delivers courses for 800+ organisations across healthcare, government, finance, legal and retail.
5,000+ courses. 800+ organisations. One consistent frustration.
The same problems recur everywhere. Production takes too long. Specialist dependency creates bottlenecks. Great knowledge stays locked in people's heads.
Building the tool that should have existed
Pete begins building CourseAgent - an AI authoring platform where instructional design principles aren't an add-on, they're the foundation. Every template, prompt and quality check is built on two decades of professional practice.
Investment, development and beta
CourseAgent raises investment, builds the full platform including Academy LMS and Dynamic SCORM, and begins beta testing. Early feedback validates the core premise.
Launch
CourseAgent launches publicly. Trademark registered in the UK. The mission: make professional course creation accessible to every expert with knowledge worth sharing.
Heritage
The heritage behind the platform.
CourseAgent is built on the foundations of Me Learning Ltd - a professional e-learning company founded by Pete Murr in 2005. Over two decades, Me Learning designed and delivered courses for more than 800 organisations across the public and private sector, building a deep understanding of what makes professional learning actually work.
That instructional design practice - refined across thousands of real projects - is what powers every AI output CourseAgent produces.
A note on Me Learning and CourseAgent
Me Learning Ltd and CourseAgent are separate companies. Me Learning continues to operate as a professional e-learning provider. CourseAgent is a new platform built by the same founder, drawing on the same expertise - but designed to serve a wider audience of subject matter experts, training consultancies and L&D teams who want to create professional courses themselves.
